CURRENT ACTIVITIES
On February 26, 2010, I-595 roadway construction began in the vicinity of Pine Island Road. This area of the project construction is referred to as
Construction Segment C, as described on the Construction Updates page. The contractor will continue to work both east and west from Pine Island Road within Segment C. Significant progress has been made in the other four construction segments on design, field survey, geotechnical investigation and utility coordination/relocation activities. Conceptual permits are being modified as necessary and separated into individual construction permits to match the construction segmentation and sequencing of the project.
Construction continues on the North New River Greenway path and pedestrian bridges west of University Drive, and the construction of Sound Barrier 3 (SB 3) north of the Greenway between Hiatus Road and Nob Hill Road is now complete.
